Mr. Wilbur Petree - After 41 years of teaching at the Thornton Fractional schools, Mr. Petree is making this his last year. From 1927 to 1949, he served as football coach and also as basketball coach. He was athletic director at North for 26 years. During his years as coach, he had 8 South Suburban Football Champs. South will surely miss the services of this man. |
Mrs. Josephine Weaver - On December 5, 1967, Mrs. Weaver died at St. Margaret's Hospital. For the past two years, Mrs. Weaver has taught French at South, also sponsoring the French Club and sharing with her students her knowledge of French culture and customs. The news of her death stunned the entire student body and faculty. |

We, the Postscript staff, would like to dedicate the 1968 yearbook to two loyal Rebel teachers, one who died in the fall of 1967 and the ol who is retiring after 41 years of teaching.
